The support of officials is vital to the success of our local sports!

The Official of the Year recognises an individual who has attained a level of excellence in the field of officiating (eg: refereeing, umpiring, judging, technical officer) and whose performance sets them apart from their peers.

Nominations are encouraged from all officials in all sports recognised by Sport Australia.

Officials can self-nominate or be nominated by another person!

Nominations will be assessed on two criteria:

The significance of the official’s development and progression within their sport (e.g. officiating at state or national leagues, invited to officiate at major events etc).
Leadership in developing other officials and contribution to the growth of the Sunshine Coast officiating community(e.g., mentorship of developing officials, positive attitude, representation on officiating committees etc).
