RISING TENNIS TALENT EADIE BIGGS CAPTURES NATIONAL CROWN

At just 12 years old, Eadie Biggs has announced herself as one of Australia’s brightest young talents, claiming the U/12 title at the 2025 Australian Claycourt National Championships held in Canberra during April.
The Sunshine Coast local now finds her name etched alongside legends such as Ash Barty on the prestigious championship trophy. “Ash is a legend,” Eadie said. “I’ve always looked up to her and Evonne Goolagong. I will keep working hard so I can follow in their footsteps and one day play in the big tournaments around the world.”
A gifted athlete from an early age, Eadie has always enjoyed a range of sports, but tennis quickly stood out as her true passion. “I had my first lesson when I was five, but I’ve been playing around on the court since I was two with my older brother and family,” she said.
With a natural competitive fire, and an undeniable passion for the sport, Eadie’s early success comes as no surprise, “It’s so much fun… I love to compete. I just knew it was what I wanted to do, it has always been what I love.”
As a member of Tennis Australia’s National Development Academy, Eadie trains six days a week, often making the trip to Brisbane. Despite the demanding schedule, she embraces the challenge with a maturity well beyond her years, taking it as an opportunity to prepare herself for the travelling demands of a professional tennis career.
Eadie credits much of her motivation and drive to her roots on the Sunshine Coast. “The Sunshine Coast community has definitely helped foster my tennis. I’ve been really lucky to have been surrounded by so many people that love tennis, it’s inspiring watching all ages play.”
Key to her development have been the Noosaville Tennis Club and local organisation Great Dreams, both of which have provided support for her to chase her tennis ambitions. Grateful for the opportunities she’s been given, Eadie remains grounded in her journey, “I enjoy working hard… I am so grateful for the support to do what I love to do.”
Recently selected by Tennis Australia to compete on the Europe Tour, Eadie is set to make her international debut this July. Spanning four weeks and featuring multiple tournaments, the tour marks a significant milestone in her career. Unsurprisingly, Eadie is training with determination, focused on delivering her best performance on the international stage.
With big dreams of one day representing Australia at a professional level, Eadie is already proving she has both the talent and determination to get there. And while the road ahead is long, her approach remains refreshingly simple: “I just want to keep working hard—and keep having fun.”
Sunshine Coast Sports is grateful to have had the opportunity to gain an insight into the national champs’ journey and cannot wait to watch her inspiring story unfold.
