Athletes can self-nominate or be nominated by another person (e.g., coach, team manager, friend, relative).

Commitment and leadership as an athlete, as demonstrated by a positive attitude and sportspersonship on and off the field, for example:

Demonstrated sportspersonship such as encouraging or complimenting others for their efforts
Demonstrated leadership such as sharing helpful advice with others and lifting the team spirit
Demonstrated positive attitude on or off the field such as being resilient / having a growth mindset in training or competition / learning from a loss
Volunteering in the sport such as officiating, packing up gear, coaching younger age groups
Raising the profile of their sport and/or club
Increasing community engagement and/or participation
Other examples demonstrating commitment and leadership as an athlete
