OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR 2025
The support of officials is vital to the success of our local sports!
The Official of the Year recognises an individual who has attained a level of excellence in the field of officiating (eg: refereeing, umpiring, judging, technical officer) and whose performance sets them apart from their peers.
Nominations are encouraged from all officials in all sports recognised by Sport Australia.
Officials can self-nominate or be nominated by another person!
Nominations will be assessed based on two criteria during the Annual Awards period (from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025):
- The significance of the official’s development and progression within their sport
- Leadership in developing other officials and contribution to the growth of the Sunshine Coast officiating community
The Award nomination period closed on Wednesday 8th October 2025 and the Judging Panel are currently assessing all the nominations. Finalists will be advised early November and Award Recipients will be announced on Thursday 20th November 2025 at the Sunshine Coast Sports Annual Awards celebration at Altitude Nine.
